2018 Sex and Gender Health Education (SGHE) Summit
April 8-10, 2018, Salt Lake City
As a leader in medical education we invite you to submit a poster abstract about sex and gender health education initiatives within your institution to the 2018 Sex and Gender Health Education (SGHE) Summit.
Posters are being solicited for this Summit to showcase programs and highlight research on curriculum development, integration, assessment, or curriculum product development in the area of sex and gender based medicine (SGBM).
SGBM is defined as the practice of medicine based on the understanding that biology (dictated by sex chromosomes) and social roles (gender) are important in and have implications for prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment; and in the design and implementation of health research policy, programs, and services in men and women.
The Summit is particularly interested in posters that highlight the following areas of SGBM integration in medical education:
• Curricular Innovation
• Curricular Assessment
• Faculty Development
• Educational Policy and Advocacy
• SGBM Attitudes and Awareness
Abstracts should contain all of the following: Background, Objectives, Methods/ Research, and Conclusions/Impact. Use a short, specific title. Capitalize initial letters of trade names and use standard abbreviations for units of measure. Non-standard abbreviations should be spelled out in full at first mention, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
First authors will be notified of acceptance and the date, time, location, and poster board number in December 2017. If your poster is accepted, you must register for the Summit and be available to attend the poster presentation reception on the evening of April 8, 2018.
In addition to a poster presentation, your institution's work will be included in a digital SGHE Abstract Booklet for all Summit participants to view and share. SGHE Summit Abstract submissions will provide valuable information during Summit Workshop discussions in addition to providing networking opportunities for participants.
